Who is responsible for this website
Make France Real (makefrancereal.com) is run by Louis. I am responsible for the personal data collected through this website. You can contact me at hello@makefrancereal.com.
What I collect, why, and on what basis
Contact form. If you write to me through the contact form, I collect your name, email address and message so that I can reply. Messages are delivered to me by email through Brevo. Basis: my legitimate interest in answering you.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, I collect your email address to send you the newsletter. Subscriptions are managed by Brevo. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
Comments. If you leave a comment, I collect the name, email address and IP address you provide, along with the comment itself. To fight spam, comments may be checked by the Akismet service (operated by Automattic). If you tick the box to save your details for your next comment, your browser stores a small cookie for that purpose. Basis: my legitimate interest in running a discussion space free of spam.
Audience statistics. With your consent, I use Google Analytics and Google Search Console through the Site Kit plugin to understand how the site is used and how visitors find it. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. Basis: your consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the site.
Security. The site uses Wordfence, which may record IP addresses and technical information to protect the site against attacks. The hosting provider also keeps technical logs. Basis: my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
Technical operation. Other tools used on the site (such as email delivery through WP Mail SMTP, form handling through WPForms and backups through UpdraftPlus) process data only to make the features above work. Backups of the website, which may contain the data described in this policy, are stored securely.
Who receives your data
Your data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site: OVHcloud (hosting), Brevo (emails and newsletter), Google (statistics, with your consent), Automattic (Akismet anti-spam) and Wordfence (security). I do not sell your personal data.
Where your data is stored
The website is hosted by OVH SAS, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France (ovhcloud.com). Some of the providers above, such as Google, Automattic and Wordfence, are based outside the European Union, so your data may be transferred outside the EU. Where this happens, the transfer relies on safeguards recognized under European data protection law, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision, depending on the provider.
How long I keep your data
- Contact messages: for as long as needed to reply, then up to 12 months after our last exchange.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. A minimal record (your email address and proof of your consent) may be kept for up to 3 years afterwards.
- Comments: for as long as the article they relate to remains online, unless you ask me to delete them.
- Analytics cookies: up to 13 months. Analytics data: up to 14 months.
- Your cookie choice: 6 months, after which you will be asked again.
- Security and server logs: up to 12 months.
Cookies
Essential cookies are always active. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, such as _ga) are only set after you accept them. Comment cookies are only set if you tick the box to remember your details.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw your consent, and to receive a copy of your data. To exercise these rights, email hello@makefrancereal.com. If you are in the European Union, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL, cnil.fr).
Children
This website is not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data.
